Farragon
Aberdeen, Scotland
The renovation and modern reincarnation of a two-and-a-half-storey, granite Victorian property in Aberdeen’s west end. Works involved the complete strip-out, remodel and reconfiguration of the space to introduce communal open-plan living and considered injections of light.
Made-to-measure joinery was specified throughout, including an intricately designed 3.5 metre high Accoya front door, solid oak staircase, birch cabinetry and wine cellar. A traditional Victorian staircase and sash and case windows were sensitively restored. New cornicing and stained glass were heritage matched.
Specialist fixtures and fittings include herringbone flooring, patent glazing and Crittall-style doors. Further building works included a timber and black zinc entrance canopy, new bathroom suites, alterations to the roofscape and redecoration.
Coldwells Build won a 2023 Federation of Master Builder Award for Farragon in the Large Renovation category.
