Full Time General Builder

Location. Alford, Aberdeenshire

We are seeking an experienced time-served general builder. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking, ambitious individual to join our award-winning team.

You will be working on challenging and contemporary new build homes and extensions throughout Aberdeenshire. The ideal candidate will have an excellent construction knowledge and will be able to do all forms of building work, including:

— Stonework
— Blockwork
— Concrete work
— General drainage work

Full Time Apprentice Builder

Location. Alford, Aberdeenshire

We are seeking an apprentice builder to join our award-winning construction team. This is an exciting, busy role and a great introduction to the inner workings of the construction industry.

The successful applicant will be enrolled in a four-year Modern Apprenticeship in Bricklaying (Construction) in partnership with CITB (Construction Industry Training Board).

The SVQ (Scottish Vocational Qualification) will be delivered via on-the-job training, supported by a journeyman and in college on block release.

The successful applicant will be working on challenging and contemporary new build homes and extensions throughout Aberdeenshire. This will be a physically demanding role and the following are essential requirements:

— The ability to work 9 hours per day, Monday-Friday and attend college when required
— Capable of lifting heavy materials
— Competent in basic level maths
— Ability to learn quickly and work as part of a team
— Well presented
— Good communication skills
— Naturally shows initiative and is solution focused
— Pays attention to detail and takes pride in work
— Excellent time management skills
— Highly motivated, well organised and cheerful
— Must be able to get own way to work if living outside Alford
— A full UK driving licence or actively taking driving lessons
